Make it yours

Arazio's settings are in the menu bar: click the Arazio icon, then Settings.

Which key opens which ring

The defaults are ⇧ for formats, ⌥ for tools and ⌃ for actions.

If one of those clashes with something else you do while dragging, change it in Settings → Modifiers. Each ring can be put on any of the three keys, and Arazio will not let you assign the same key to two rings.

Everything in this documentation assumes the defaults. If you change them, read ⇧ as "whichever key you put the formats on".

Where converted files go

By default, beside the original: same folder, same name, new extension.

Settings → Output can change this to a folder you choose, if you would rather everything landed in one place. The naming is the same either way, and an existing file is never overwritten — Arazio adds a number instead.

Sub-folders

Dragging a folder converts the files directly inside it. Settings → Output → Include sub-folders makes it go all the way down, which is occasionally what you want and occasionally a very long job you did not intend to start.

The menu bar

Arazio lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon and no main window. The menu has the settings, the recent conversions, and a quit item.

Settings → General → Launch at login starts it when you log in. Without it you have to open Arazio before the ring will appear, which is the other common answer to "why is nothing happening".

Quality

Settings → Quality sets how hard the lossy formats are compressed — JPEG, WebP, AVIF, MP3, AAC. The default is a high quality that is still meaningfully smaller than the original.

Lossless formats ignore this setting entirely, because there is nothing for it to do.
