Formats
AAC files
The audio codec inside most M4A files, sometimes handed to you bare. Better than MP3 at the same size; less universally accepted.
Convert AAC to
Arazio converts AAC to seven formats. All of them sit on the ring.
Tools that work on AAC
Hold ⌥ over a AAC instead of ⇧ and these appear. They change the file without changing its format.
What it keeps
- Lossy — quality is traded for size, and converting repeatedly compounds the loss.
Where the file goes
Beside the original, in the same folder, with the same name and a new extension. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is uploaded — see Privacy and permissions.
Extensions: .aac · Category: audio · AAC converts to seven formats — hold ⇧ and they appear around the cursor.
