Formats
MOV files
Apple's video container, and what an iPhone and QuickTime write. The video inside is usually H.264 or HEVC — the same codecs an MP4 holds, which is why the two convert so cheaply.
Convert MOV to
Arazio converts MOV to seven formats. All of them sit on the ring.
Tools that work on MOV
Hold ⌥ over a MOV instead of ⇧ and these appear. They change the file without changing its format.
What it keeps
- Lossy — quality is traded for size, and converting repeatedly compounds the loss.
- Metadata — EXIF and similar fields are carried across, and the Strip Metadata tool can remove them.
Where the file goes
Beside the original, in the same folder, with the same name and a new extension. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is uploaded — see Privacy and permissions.
Extensions: .mov · Category: video · MOV converts to seven formats — hold ⇧ and they appear around the cursor.
