Formats
WebP files
Google's web image format. Smaller than JPEG and PNG at comparable quality, supported by every current browser, and still refused by plenty of desktop software.
Convert WebP to
Arazio converts WebP to eight formats. All of them sit on the ring.
Tools that work on WebP
Hold ⌥ over a WebP instead of ⇧ and these appear. They change the file without changing its format.
What it keeps
- Lossy — quality is traded for size, and converting repeatedly compounds the loss.
- Lossless — converting into it does not degrade the image.
- Transparency — an alpha channel survives the conversion.
- Animation — more than one frame is kept.
Where the file goes
Beside the original, in the same folder, with the same name and a new extension. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is uploaded — see Privacy and permissions.
Extensions: .webp · Category: image · WebP converts to eight formats — hold ⇧ and they appear around the cursor.
