# Compress

Makes a file smaller. On a PDF full of text this subsets the embedded fonts and then checks the result against the original pixel by pixel, rather than rasterising the pages — so the words stay selectable and searchable. On images, video and audio it re-encodes.

## How to reach it

Pick the file up in Finder, hold Option, and let go toward **Compress**.

## What it accepts

Any audio or image or pdf or video file Arazio reads: 3GP, AAC, AIFF, AVI, AVIF, BMP, FLAC, FLV, GIF, HEIC, ICO, JPG, M4A, M4V, MKV, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPEG, OGG, Opus, PDF, PNG, TIFF, WAV, WebM, WebP, WMV.

## What it writes

A new file in the same format, beside the original.
