# Keyboard reference

Arazio has almost no keyboard shortcuts, because it is not that kind of app.
What it has is modifiers you hold while dragging.

## Mid-drag

| Hold | Ring | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| <kbd>⇧</kbd> Shift | Formats | What this file can become |
| <kbd>⌥</kbd> Option | Tools | Compress, resize, trim, split, merge… |
| <kbd>⌃</kbd> Control | Actions | AirDrop, Shelf, Copy, Move, Copy Path, Terminal |

You can swap these in [Settings → Modifiers](/docs/make-it-yours). Arazio will
not let two rings share a key.

## While a ring is open

| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Move toward a slice | It highlights. Nothing is committed yet. |
| Move back to the centre | Nothing is selected; releasing cancels. |
| Release on a slice | That conversion or action runs. |
| Release in the centre | Nothing happens. |
| Swap modifier | The ring changes under your cursor, mid-drag. |
| Release outside the ring | An ordinary drag — mind what is underneath. |

## In the Shelf

| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Drag a file out | Takes that file; the Shelf stays. |
| Drag the window background | Moves the Shelf. |
| Close button | Closes **and empties** it. |

## In the docs

| Key | What happens |
|---|---|
| <kbd>⌘</kbd><kbd>K</kbd> or <kbd>/</kbd> | Focus the search box |
| <kbd>↑</kbd> <kbd>↓</kbd> | Move through results |
| <kbd>⏎</kbd> | Open the selected result |
| <kbd>esc</kbd> | Clear and close |
