# BZ2 files

A single compressed file, not an archive of several — usually wrapped around a TAR, which is where .tar.bz2 comes from.

## Convert BZ2 to

7Z, GZIP, TAR, XZ, ZIP.

## Tools that work on BZ2

Hold Option rather than Shift: Extract.

## Where the file goes

Beside the original, same folder, same name, new extension. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is uploaded.

Extensions: .bz2 · Category: archive
