# AVIF files

The newest of the web image formats and the smallest at a given quality. Browser support is good; support outside the browser is patchy.

## Convert AVIF to

BMP, GIF, HEIC, JPG, PDF, PNG, TIFF, WebP.

## Tools that work on AVIF

Hold Option rather than Shift: Compress, Crop, Flip, Resize, Rotate, Strip Metadata.

## Where the file goes

Beside the original, same folder, same name, new extension. Nothing is overwritten and nothing is uploaded.

Extensions: .avif · Category: image
